WANA (Jun 10) – Esmaeil Baghaei, spokesperson for Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, condemned the U.S. attack on water supply facilities in Sirik County, Hormozgan Province, describing it as an assault on civilian life and a blatant violation of international law.

 

In a post on X, Baghaei wrote: “Water is the pulse of life,” adding that the United States had targeted the very lifeline of Iranian civilians by attacking water infrastructure.

 

According to the Foreign Ministry spokesperson, the United States continued its military actions against Iran by striking vital water supply facilities in southern Iran overnight. The facilities were responsible for providing water services to more than 20,000 residents in the region.

 

Reports indicate that the attack destroyed two water storage reservoirs with a combined capacity of 2,500 cubic meters, disrupting access to drinking water for at least ten villages.

 

Condemning the strike, Baghaei stated that targeting essential civilian infrastructure and depriving people of access to safe drinking water constitutes “a clear war crime” and a grave violation of human rights and international humanitarian law.

 

The Foreign Ministry spokesperson further stressed that U.S. authorities must be held accountable for what he described as crimes committed against Iran’s critical civilian infrastructure and should face legal consequences for their actions.
