WANA (Jun 09) – Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei has linked the recent U.S. sale of a $1 billion counter-drone defense system to Kuwait to what he described as a “false flag” operation.

 

In a post on X on Tuesday evening, Baghaei shared an image of a U.S. State Department announcement regarding the sale and wrote that “the pieces of the puzzle fell into place very quickly.”

 

According to Baghaei, an attack on Kuwait International Airport was first carried out using a copied version of the “Lucas” drone as part of a false flag operation. He said the incident was then used as justification for selling the “Pawerus” counter-drone air defense system to Kuwait.

 

Baghaei argued that the system was marketed as protection against alleged Iranian attacks and described the sequence of events as an example of security and political narratives being used to facilitate a lucrative arms deal.

 

Concluding his remarks, the Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson wrote: “What a profitable deal!”
