Baghaei: Genocide in Palestine Echoes Atomic Bombing of Japan
WANA (Aug 14) – Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson shared a warning issued by United Nations human rights rapporteurs regarding the similarities between the genocide in Palestine and the 1945 atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
In a post on the social media platform X, Esmaeil Baghaei wrote: “On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, UN human rights rapporteurs have expressed grave concern over the Zionist regime’s genocide in Palestine, describing it as bearing painful similarities to the nuclear attacks on Japan.”
The rapporteurs cautioned: “The perpetration of genocidal attacks by Israel is particularly alarming because it is the only possessor of nuclear weapons in the Middle East, and through its assaults on most of its neighbors—including its [recent] attacks on nuclear facilities in Iran—it threatens regional stability…”
