WANA (Jun 05) – Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei has sharply criticized Germany following its failure to secure a non-permanent seat on the United Nations Security Council, describing the vote outcome as a global rejection of Berlin’s foreign policy.

 

In a statement published on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Baghaei reacted to Germany’s inability to garner the minimum required votes in the UN General Assembly.

 

He stated that Germany’s failure to secure the non-permanent seat—for the first time in decades—serves as a “stark rebuke from the international community.”

 

According to the spokesperson, the vote reflects a growing global outrage over what he termed the German ruling establishment’s “irresponsible, hypocritical, and complicit stance toward the genocide in Gaza and US-Israel’s military aggression against Iran.”

 

Accusations of Unconditional Support for Israel

Baghaei further targeted Berlin’s diplomatic and military alignment, identifying Germany as one of the largest suppliers of lethal weapons to Israel. He claimed that the European nation has consistently justified the actions against Palestinians.

 

The spokesperson also criticized Germany’s response to recent military escalations involving Iran. He noted that when the Israeli regime launched its aggression on Iranian territory, Berlin refused to condemn the attacks. Instead, Baghaei alleged, German officials “shamelessly” described the military actions as “dirty work that Israel is doing for all of us.”

 

A Shifting Diplomatic Landscape

Concluding his statement, the Iranian diplomat warned Western powers that the dynamics of global accountability are shifting. He remarked that nations are no longer judging governments by their lofty rhetoric regarding international law, but rather by their actual behavior on the world stage.

 

Baghaei cautioned that those who choose to ignore this geopolitical shift will inevitably pay a heavy diplomatic price in the international arena.
