WANA (Jun 14) – Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson said the resilience and sacrifice of the Iranian people thwarted the objectives of Israel and the United States during their military attacks on Iran, turning what he described as the aggressors’ ambitions into failure.

 

Marking the first anniversary of the Israeli and U.S. military strikes against Iran in June 2025, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei wrote in a post on X on Sunday that the attackers, “under the illusion of victory,” chose the path of aggression and targeted a nation whose history is defined by resistance and the defeat of its adversaries.

 

Baghaei described the attacks as the beginning of a military campaign launched by Israel with U.S. support. According to his statement, the operation involved the assassination of Iranian defenders and strikes on the country’s nuclear facilities.

 

Despite those actions, he said, the determination, resilience, and self-sacrifice of the Iranian people prevented the attackers from achieving their goals. He argued that the enemy’s plans ultimately ended in failure and humiliation, creating what he called a lasting example of strength, perseverance, and the pursuit of national dignity.

 

“The steadfast will, resistance, and self-sacrifice of the Iranian nation transformed the enemy’s dream into defeat and disgrace,” Baghaei wrote, adding that the events had left behind a notable example of endurance and national resolve.

 

The spokesperson concluded his message by quoting Persian poetry honoring sacrifice and devotion in defense of the homeland.

 

The June 2025 military confrontation between Iran, Israel, and the United States was one of the most significant security developments in the region in recent years, involving strikes on Iranian targets and prompting a wide-ranging response from Tehran.
