WANA (Apr 25) – The Iranian Foreign Ministry has clarified that no direct meeting between Iranian and U.S. officials is scheduled during the current diplomatic mission to Pakistan, emphasizing that Tehran will communicate its positions through Pakistani intermediaries.

Esmaeil Baghaei, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, arrived in the Pakistani capital early Saturday morning accompanying Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi. Speaking shortly after their arrival, Baghaei confirmed the start of the official visit.

“In this trip, Foreign Minister Dr. Araghchi will consult with high-ranking Pakistani officials regarding their mediation efforts and ‘good offices’ aimed at ending the aggressive war imposed by the United States and the Zionist regime, and establishing peace in the region,” Baghaei stated.

The spokesperson for the diplomatic apparatus explicitly underscored: “No meeting between Iran and the United States has been planned.”

He added that “the views and considerations of the Islamic Republic of Iran will be reflected to the Pakistani side” for further communication.

The Iranian delegation, led by Araghchi, arrived in Islamabad late Friday night, April 24, marking the first stop of a broader regional tour. Upon arrival, the delegation was received by Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Mohammad Ishaq Dar, along with Field Marshal Asim Munir, the Chief of Army Staff.

In a corresponding statement, the Pakistani Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that the Iranian Foreign Minister will hold discussions with senior officials to address the latest regional developments and ongoing efforts for regional peace and stability.

Before departing Tehran on Friday evening, Araghchi announced his three-nation tour on social media, stating: “The goal of these trips is close coordination with our partners on bilateral issues and consultation regarding regional developments.” Following his stay in Islamabad, the Foreign Minister is scheduled to travel to Muscat and Moscow.
