WANA (Mar 10) – Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei strongly criticized the double standards of the European Union in response to the EU foreign policy chief’s stance on developments in Lebanon, calling it the height of hypocrisy.

 

In a message posted on X, Baghaei said: “This is the height of hypocrisy and double standards. When the Israeli regime was committing genocide in Gaza and massacring thousands in Lebanon, the European Union remained indifferent, and some of its member states even continued sending weapons to the occupying regime.”

 

He added: “The European Union showed no reaction while ceasefires in Gaza and Lebanon were being violated. But now that Lebanon is resisting Israel’s crimes, they suddenly remember ‘international law.’”

 

Baghaei concluded by asking the EU: “How can you claim to represent nations that are raising their voices in condemnation of Israel’s crimes?”
