WANA (Aug 11) – Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei has criticized efforts to undermine international judicial rulings concerning the Gaza war, asking whether the international order in the 21st century is returning to the era of the “Wild West.”

 

In a post on X, Baghaei referred to arrest warrants issued against Israeli officials and wrote: “Is this the international order of the 21st century, or the Wild West, where a self-appointed sheriff would issue wanted notices while simultaneously acting as prosecutor, judge and enforcer?”

 

Baghaei stressed that a competent international judicial body had examined allegations concerning crimes committed in Gaza and issued arrest warrants for Israeli officials, arguing that such rulings cannot simply be nullified through a social media post.

 

“When a competent international judicial body has examined the crimes committed in Gaza and issued arrest warrants for those responsible, the law cannot be rewritten and the rulings erased simply by publishing a post,” he said.
