WANA (Jul 11) – The spokesperson for Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has emphasized the international responsibility of the German government due to the Chancellor’s support for Israel’s military aggression against Iran.

 

Esmail Baghaei, in a post on the social media platform X, wrote: “The German Chancellor insists on supporting the rogue behavior and heinous crimes of the Israeli regime at the cost of ignoring the fundamental principles of the UN Charter and international law.”

 

He added: “Mr. Merz, himself a law graduate, surely knows well that Israel’s military attack on Iran constitutes a blatant violation of Article 2(4) of the UN Charter and should be considered a grave criminal act.”

 

Baghaei further stated: “Endorsing injustice amounts to complicity in committing it. The German Chancellor’s persistent and unwavering support for the Israeli regime’s military aggression against Iran—and the war crimes committed during that aggression—makes the German government internationally responsible as an accomplice and facilitator of these wrongful and criminal acts. Germany must be held accountable in this regard.”
