Baghaei: Rubio’s Lies Cannot Replace the Facts About Yemen
WANA (Sep 10) – Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei has rejected U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio’s remarks about Iran’s role in developments in Yemen, stressing that Ansarullah is an independent actor that makes its own decisions without taking orders from others.
In a post on X, Baghaei said that “Marco Rubio’s lies cannot replace the facts,” adding that Ansarullah is an independent actor that makes its own decisions, takes orders from no one, and is not a proxy for others.
Baghaei said the roots of regional instability should be traced to U.S. military interventions and its hegemonic policies, arguing that if Washington genuinely sought peace, it should end its destabilizing interventions in the region.
The Iranian spokesman also stressed that peace in Yemen cannot be achieved through bombing and external pressure, saying that the path to peace begins with genuine negotiations based on a roadmap agreed upon by the parties.
