Baghaei Slams Israel Over “Fake Death” Narrative in Protests
WANA (Jan 27) – Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson addressed reports on social media today regarding claims of Israeli media misrepresenting individuals as casualties in recent Iranian protests.
In a post on X, the spokesperson highlighted a video from Israel’s Channel 12 showing an Israeli woman, Noya (Noa) Zion, reportedly listed as “killed” in Iran. The woman herself posted video evidence confirming she is alive, at home, and has never been to Iran.
The spokesperson criticised the dissemination of false information and labelled it part of a broader pattern of disinformation and misleading narratives targeting Iran.
The Iranian official further characterised the incident as part of a broader, orchestrated propaganda effort. He compared the tactics to the “Große Lüge” (the Big Lie), a propaganda technique historically associated with the Hitler era.
