Baghaei: Strong Condemnation of Israeli Actions in Gaza
WANA (Apr 23) – Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Esmail Baghaei, strongly condemned the continuation of Israeli attacks in the Gaza Strip, describing them as part of ongoing actions against civilians and calling for an immediate international response.
Baghaei referred to recent developments in the occupied Palestinian territories and stated that Israel’s military actions in recent days—including the killing of civilians and the targeting of Palestinian activists—are strongly condemned.
He added that since the announcement of the ceasefire in Gaza, around 800 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli attacks, a significant number of whom are women and children.
Baghaei also commented on the nature of the ceasefire, stating that Israel, in coordination with the United States, has used it as a cover to continue its military operations and what he described as genocide.
The Foreign Ministry spokesperson further held the U.S. government directly responsible for the situation due to its continued military and political support for Israel.
He concluded by emphasizing the need for immediate action by international bodies, including the United Nations, human rights institutions, and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, urging decisive measures to halt the violence and hold those responsible accountable.
