WANA (Jun 09) – Iran’s Foreign Ministry Spokesperson, Esmaeil Baghaei, has issued a sharp response to recent allegations made by the Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama, against Iran on social media.

 

In a statement published on X, Baghaei urged the Albanian Prime Minister to calm down, stating that it was the Prime Minister himself who initiated the dispute and must now face the consequences.

 

The spokesperson advised that it would be wiser for the Albanian leader to demonstrate respect for the intelligence and judgment of his own citizens, describing Albanians as a nation with a rich culture and proud history who are perceptive enough to distinguish truth from falsehood.

 

Baghaei added that if the Prime Minister chooses to sell his country’s national sovereignty, that remains his own decision, noting that he does not owe Iran an explanation. However, the spokesperson emphasized that when faced with the outrage and criticism of his own public, the Prime Minister should not use external parties as a convenient scapegoat to evade accountability.

 

 

Concluding his remarks, the foreign ministry official suggested that instead of authoring lengthy pamphlets filled with hackneyed and baseless accusations against Iran, the Prime Minister should take a moment to listen to his own people who are currently chanting in the streets for an end to corruption, demanding justice, and calling for his resignation.
