WANA (Aug 25) – Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei has strongly criticized the latest US actions against Iran, describing Washington’s economic campaign as an assault on the national sovereignty of all nations and a direct violation of every country’s right to self-determination.

 

Writing on his official X (formerly Twitter) account, Baghaei addressed the U.S. declaration of an “Economic D-Day,” criticizing those who acquiesce to foreign pressure by choosing to appear “as obedient as shadows” and asserting that the situation is “absolutely not fine.”

 

The spokesman emphasized that when a country demands that every bank, enterprise, port, and government submit to Washington’s dictates or face economic retaliation, the issue extends far beyond Iran.

 

He warned that such actions undermine the core principles of international law and the UN Charter—specifically sovereign equality and national self-determination.

 

Baghaei added that no nation respecting its own sovereignty and interests should accept the normalization of widespread lawlessness and systemic coercion, noting that countries like Canada are already realizing the consequences of such policies.
