WANA (Jan 21) – Iranian table tennis sensation Benyamin Faraji has secured the gold medal in the Under-17 Boys category at the international youth tournament in Qatar, further cementing his status as one of the sport’s most promising rising stars.

In a one-sided championship final, Faraji showcased exceptional skill and composure against his opponent from Hong Kong. The Iranian standout secured the title with a commanding 3-0 victory, leaving no room for a comeback and dominating the match from the opening serve.

While Faraji celebrated a podium finish, the tournament saw mixed fortunes for other members of the Iranian delegation. Arshia Lorestani, another talented representative of the Islamic Republic, reached the Round of 16 but was ultimately eliminated following a hard-fought match.

Previously, Benyamin Faraji had pulled off a stunning upset at the Asian Championships by defeating the world number one, China’s Wang Chuqin, with a score of 3-2.
