Black Rabbit, White Rabbit Joins Competition at China’s HIIFF
WANA (Dec 03) – China’s Hainan International Film Festival (HIIFF) has announced the films selected for its competition section, adding another major December event to the already busy schedule of Shahram Mokri’s latest film, Black Rabbit, White Rabbit.
The film will compete for the festival’s top prize alongside 13 titles from the United States, Canada, Germany, Italy, China, Japan, and France.
The festival runs from December 3 to 9 in China. Juliette Binoche serves as the festival’s ambassador and artistic director, while Marco Müller chairs the jury.
Black Rabbit, White Rabbit, directed by Shahram Mokri and written by Nasim Ahmadpour and Mokri, is produced by Negar Eskandarfar and stars Babak Karimi and Hasti Mohammayi.
The film follows a woman who, after a car accident, discovers that the reality around her has shifted, taking on a mysterious and uncanny atmosphere.
Mokri’s new film was shot in Tajikistan and features actors from both Iran and Tajikistan.
