Body of Producer of Anti-Iranian Series “Tehran” Found in Athens
WANA (Feb 16) – The body of Danna Eden, producer of the anti-Iranian series “Tehran,” was found in Athens at the age of 52. She had been in Greece to oversee the filming of the show’s fourth season and had traveled there to personally supervise the production process.
According to Hebrew-language media reports, concerns were raised after Eden failed to respond to calls and messages from her brother. A search was initiated, and her body was eventually discovered in a hotel in Athens. Greek police have ordered an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death and have begun reviewing security camera footage and questioning hotel staff. No official details regarding the cause of death have yet been released.
The Israeli public broadcaster Kan 11, which airs the series, said in a statement that the fourth season had recently been filming in Greece. Due to the complexity and scale of the production, Eden had traveled to the location to closely monitor the project. The broadcaster described her as an influential and active figure in Israel’s television industry.
First released in 2020, “Tehran” follows the story of a Mossad agent infiltrating the Iranian capital. The series has drawn political attention for its portrayal of Iran and has been described by Iranian officials as anti-Iranian.
Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Iran’s foreign minister, previously characterized the show as “a fictional and entirely fabricated narrative.” The third season was released last month, while production on the fourth season was underway.
Eden had also worked as a producer on other television projects, including “Wildlife Rescue,” “Magpie,” and “Shakshouka,” and was regarded as a well-known figure in Israeli television production.
Greek authorities have stated that official findings will be released once the forensic investigation is complete.
