Bomb Plot Allegation Against Iran at Arbaeen: Mossad’s Deception Exposed
WANA (Aug 09) – Mossad’s Persian-language account on the former social media platform Twitter, now X (Mossad Farsi), has claimed that the Islamic Republic of Iran was planning a terrorist attack along the route of the Arbaeen pilgrimage, intending to blame Israel for the incident.
These claims come despite official statements from regional authorities, including the governor of Karbala, which completely contradict this narrative.
The message posted by the account reads:
“How ruthless is the Islamic Republic? This regime is planning a terrorist attack with bombings along the Arbaeen pilgrimage route to kill dozens of innocent Iranian pilgrims, solely to frame Israel. Killing your own people just to accuse others? This is the height of evil.”

However, Karbala Governor Nasif Jassim Khatabi, in a press conference, announced the foiling of a complex terrorist plot designed by ISIS in cooperation with the Israeli regime. He stated that this secret and precise operation was carried out by the “Shaheen” group, resulting in the arrest of 22 terrorists.
These individuals intended to carry out terrorist acts by detonating explosives along the pilgrims’ path, targeting security forces and Hussaini service stations (Mawkibs), and even poisoning pilgrims at gathering points, especially in the southern part of the province.
According to investigations and evidence, the suspects admitted in court to their affiliation with ISIS and connections with foreign entities, including the Israeli regime and terrorist-supporting groups.

In contrast, the Mossad Farsi account, without providing any evidence or documentation, relies solely on media claims to portray the Islamic Republic of Iran as the main culprit. The account’s content includes cryptic messages, accusations, and satirical remarks aimed at influencing public opinion and sowing confusion.
Such tactics gain particular importance amid the sensitive situation following recent tensions between Iran and Israel, especially as this year’s Arbaeen pilgrimage is expected to have a larger attendance and broader global coverage than in previous years. This context has motivated this account and similar ones to initiate psychological warfare targeting the spiritual and popular Arbaeen event.
Spiritual and Global Significance of the Arbaeen Pilgrimage
The Arbaeen pilgrimage is one of the world’s largest religious gatherings, symbolizing resistance, sacrifice, and solidarity. Every year, millions of pilgrims from around the world converge in Karbala on the 40th day after the death of Imam Hussain (PBUH).

This gathering, which even attracts non-Muslims worldwide, has in recent years not only become a display of faith and unity but also evolved into a cultural and humanitarian event with deep regional and global ties. Regional and extra-regional adversaries fear this massive unity and seek to undermine it through media manipulation and fabrications.
The Mossad page’s claims on X are part of a targeted psychological warfare campaign that accuses the Islamic Republic of planning terrorist attacks without providing any proof, aiming to mislead public opinion.
Conversely, facts and official positions demonstrate that Iran has been a victim of such plots and, through regional cooperation, has prevented their execution. Vigilance and the presentation of accurate, evidence-based analyses are essential when confronting such media allegations.

Users Reactions
Some critical users responded to the post with comments such as:
“The Jewish Republic, worried about the lives of Shiites, or planning a bombing? The eleven hundred people you killed didn’t cause any guilt; now the rest matter?”
“Whatever mistake you make, it’s either on you or on ISIS. Trying the tried is a mistake, you bastards! These people are not afraid of martyrdom. Don’t threaten us with these words.”
“Why even have the Arbaeen ceremony?! There were 12 days; They[Iran] could have killed 90 million and then blamed Israel.”
Another user sarcastically commented: “Does Israel Radio also take song requests, Mr. Mossad? I want a song: Boom Boom Tel Aviv!”
