WANA (Apr 08) – Alaeddin Boroujerdi, a member of Iran’s parliamentary National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, said that if Iran’s national interests are targeted, “the same situation that occurred over the past 40 days will be repeated.”

In a televised interview, he referred to what he described as the United States’ failure against Iran through accepting Iran’s 10 conditions, adding that “the nature of the United States and the Zionist regime does not change, and Trump is the same Trump.”

Boroujerdi said the opposing side had expected the war to last four days, but it extended to 40 days, crediting Iran, its fighters, and public resistance for this outcome. He added that while the other side sought to end the war by the tenth day, Iran continued and “achieved various stages of victory.”

He stated that Iran did not choose the war but had it imposed upon it, emphasizing that the key objective was to emerge victorious.

According to Boroujerdi, the United States had proposed a 15-point plan, which Iran rejected without response, instead insisting on its own 10 conditions.

He said the first condition is a complete halt to attacks on Iran and its regional allies, including Hezbollah and forces in Iraq and Yemen.

The second condition, he said, is the withdrawal of U.S. combat forces from the region and a ban on any attacks or military deployments from their bases, which he described as effectively ending the U.S. military presence.

The third condition involves restricted passage of ships through the Strait of Hormuz for two weeks under a security protocol, with Iran’s armed forces responsible for security, alongside the immediate imposition of transit fees.

He added that another condition is the lifting of all primary and secondary sanctions, including those imposed by the United Nations, calling sanctions an injustice against Iran.

Boroujerdi also called for compensation for damages through a financial fund, stating that countries hosting U.S. bases share responsibility and should contribute.

He reiterated that Iran remains committed to not possessing nuclear weapons, citing a religious decree, but stressed that Iran’s right to uranium enrichment must be recognized.

He said Iran is ready for bilateral and multilateral peace agreements, while emphasizing the need for guarantees, including non-aggression toward allied groups.

Another condition, he said, is the termination of all resolutions by the IAEA Board of Governors and the UN Security Council, with all commitments to be formalized in a new UN Security Council resolution.

In conclusion, Alaeddin Boroujerdi said that at this stage, the notion promoted by the enemy that they are the winners is “by no means correct.”

Addressing Donald Trump, he said: “What kind of winner are you, when U.S. ships have fled, you were grounded in Isfahan, and you were defeated in the military arena despite claiming to be a superpower?”

He added that the situation in Tel Aviv is now similar to Gaza, stating that multiple buildings in the Israeli regime have been destroyed.

He concluded: “You have lost this war and we have won. If the new arena of defending national interests—namely negotiations—yields results, then so be it; otherwise, the same previous policy will continue.”
