WANA (Aug 04) – A bulk carrier was struck by an unidentified projectile in the Strait of Hormuz near the coast of Oman on Tuesday morning, according to the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO).

 

The maritime agency reported that the incident occurred approximately 37 kilometers east of the Omani port town of Al Khasab.

 

UKMTO stated that an investigation into the details of the attack is currently underway. In light of the security incident, the agency advised all nearby vessels to transit the area with extreme caution.
