WANA (Jul 09) – Bushehr’s Deputy Governor for Political, Security, and Social Affairs said the United States carried out another round of attacks on several locations across the province at midday Thursday.

 

Ehsan Jahanian told reporters that U.S. forces targeted multiple sites in Bushehr Province, including both military and civilian areas.

 

He said one of the strikes hit a military facility near the city of Choghadak. The perimeter of the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant and a fishing pier in Asaluyeh County were also targeted.

 

According to Jahanian, the attack on the fishing pier in the village of Bonud in Asaluyeh County caused local fishermen’s boats to catch fire.

 

He said no casualties have been reported so far, adding that emergency response teams have been deployed to the affected areas.

 

Jahanian said further details regarding the scope of the attacks and the extent of any damage will be announced through official channels after the relevant authorities complete their assessments.

 

Meanwhile, Ahmad Nafisi, Deputy Governor for Political, Security, and Social Affairs of Hormozgan Province, said a separate U.S. strike targeted the commercial pier in Sirik County, describing it as a fully civilian facility dedicated to trade and fishing.

 

According to Nafisi, three people were killed and 15 others were injured in the attack. He said seven of the wounded were treated and discharged, while eight remain hospitalized in Minab for further medical care.

 

Nafisi said the boats damaged in the strike were the primary source of income for local fishermen. He condemned the attack as a violation of international law and said targeting civilian infrastructure would not achieve its intended objectives but would instead increase tensions in the region, particularly in the energy sector.
