WANA (Jun 29) – Cargo transportation at Iran’s Shahid Rajaee Port has returned to pre-war levels, according to the Director General of Ports and Maritime Affairs of Hormozgan Province, who said the flow of essential goods and industrial raw materials has resumed normal operations.

 

Hussein Abbasnejad said that during the first five days of the war, more than 59,570 tons of essential goods and factory raw materials were shipped across Iran using the port’s logistics capacity and the rail network to help meet market demand.

 

He noted that cargo transport was heavily disrupted at the start of the conflict, with the daily number of trucks carrying imported and transit goods dropping by an average of 93% during the first five days.

 

Abbasnejad added that, thanks to coordination among the relevant authorities, cargo transportation gradually recovered. Daily outbound truck traffic increased from 165 trucks carrying 3,630 tons of cargo to approximately 2,422 trucks transporting 53,284 tons per day, restoring operations to pre-war levels.
