WANA (May 08) – The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed in a statement that U.S. Navy destroyers came under missile, drone, and Iranian fast-boat attacks while passing through the Strait of Hormuz toward the Gulf of Oman on May 7.
According to the statement, American forces responded to the attacks and claimed that none of the U.S. vessels were damaged during the confrontation.
Meanwhile, Iranian naval monitoring reports indicate that several American military vessels sustained damage during the clash. The reports also said the U.S. ships rapidly withdrew from the area following the confrontation.
