WANA (Jul 09) – The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) said early Thursday that it had concluded its latest round of military strikes against Iran, releasing video footage of attacks on targets inside the country.

 

In a statement posted on X, CENTCOM said U.S. forces completed a new series of strikes on July 8, saying the operation was intended to further degrade Iran’s ability to attack commercial shipping and civilian mariners in the Strait of Hormuz.

 

According to the statement, U.S. forces struck around 90 Iranian military targets, including air defense systems, coastal surveillance assets, missile and drone storage sites, naval capabilities, and military logistics infrastructure along Iran’s coastline.

 

CENTCOM also said the operation followed what it described as the successful execution of offensive strikes carried out the previous night inside Iran.

 

The statement added that on July 7, U.S. forces struck approximately 80 Iranian military targets, including more than 60 Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) small boats, saying the operation was intended to impose costs on Iran for what it described as violating the ceasefire and attacking three commercial vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz.

 

CENTCOM said U.S. forces remain “vigilant, lethal, and ready” to carry out any operations ordered by the Commander-in-Chief.

 

Earlier on Thursday, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said it had struck key infrastructure and facilities at U.S. military bases in Kuwait and Bahrain in response to the latest U.S. attacks.
