Chinese Ambassador and Iranian Minister Discussed Strengthening Ties
WANA (July 28) – Wang Peiwu, the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Tehran, met with Ali Bagheri, the Acting Foreign Minister of Iran, to discuss the latest developments in bilateral relations and significant issues in regional and international cooperation.
During the meeting, Bagheri highlighted the extensive potential for cooperation between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the People’s Republic of China. He emphasized the mutual determination of the leaders and governments of both countries to advance their collaborative efforts.
The Acting Foreign Minister described the enhancement of Iran-China cooperation as influential players on the international stage, particularly within multilateral frameworks such as the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and BRICS, as complementary to the developing partnership between the two nations.
Bagheri positively assessed China’s stance and perspective on the developments in Gaza, stressing the importance of strengthened consultations to achieve an immediate and unconditional halt to the crimes and genocide committed by the Zionist regime.
In response, the Chinese Ambassador provided a report on the third meeting of the 20th Standing Committee of the Chinese Communist Party and the recent gathering of 14 Palestinian groups in Beijing. He referred to the mutual political trust between the two countries as a solid foundation for cooperation, underpinned by the consensus of their top leaders. The Ambassador reaffirmed China’s commitment to implementing a comprehensive cooperation program between the two nations.
Furthermore, the Chinese Ambassador highlighted President Xi Jinping’s congratulatory message to Masoud Pezeshkian, the newly elected President of Iran, underscoring China’s determination to pursue bilateral agreements and advance multilateral cooperation. He also announced that a high-level Chinese delegation would attend the inauguration ceremony of the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
