Chinese J-20 Fighter Model Gifted to Iran’s Air Force Chief
WANA (Feb 10) – Foreign military attachés based in Tehran met with Brigadier General Bahman Behmard, Commander of the Islamic Republic of Iran Air Force, commemorating the allegiance of Iranian Air Force personnel to Imam Khomeini (Iran’s late Supreme Leader) and Air Force Day.
During the ceremony, the Chinese military attaché presented a scale model of the J-20 fighter jet to the Iranian Air Force commander.
The J-20 is a fifth-generation Chinese stealth fighter developed by Chengdu Aircraft Industry Group. Designed for both air superiority and ground attack missions, it first flew in 2011 and entered operational service with the People’s Liberation Army Air Force in 2017.
Regarded as one of the most advanced fighter jets in the world, the J-20 is considered a serious competitor to U.S. fifth-generation aircraft such as the F-22 and F-35, symbolizing China’s technological advances in defense industries.
