Chinese Ships Begin Passing Through the Strait of Hormuz Since Last Night
WANA (May 14) – According to an informed source, following a decision by the Islamic Republic of Iran, a number of Chinese vessels have been allowed to pass through the Strait of Hormuz in compliance with Iran’s Strait management protocols.
The source stated that after follow-up efforts by China’s foreign minister and the Chinese ambassador to Iran, facilitating the passage of Chinese ships was pursued on the basis of the deep ties and strategic partnership between the two countries. Eventually, it was agreed that several Chinese vessels requested by Beijing would be permitted to transit the area after reaching an understanding regarding Iran’s management protocols for the Strait. These crossings reportedly began last night.
A senior official in the IRGC Navy also announced that, since last night, 30 vessels have passed through the Strait of Hormuz with authorization from Iran.
Experts believe that this move, which is based on Iran’s internal protocols, neutralizes any political exploitation of the Strait’s strategic capacity for external pressure and further reinforces Tehran’s image as a capable and intelligent manager of this vital maritime route.
