Condemnation of the Continued Aggressions of the Israeli Regime Against Lebanon
WANA (Feb 09) – The Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran strongly condemned the continued military aggressions and terrorist actions of the Israeli regime against Lebanon, warning of their serious consequences for regional stability and civilian security.
Esmaeil Baghaei referred to the latest actions carried out by the Israeli regime in southern Lebanon, stating that the spraying of toxic and hazardous substances over Lebanese agricultural lands constitutes a criminal act that has severely damaged the country’s environment and poses a direct threat to the health of civilians and Lebanon’s food security.
Recalling that thousands of ceasefire violations have been recorded since November 2025, Baghaei emphasized that these attacks have resulted in the killing and injury of hundreds of Lebanese civilians, as well as extensive damage to the country’s public infrastructure.
He stressed that the use of toxic and chemical substances against agricultural land amounts to a clear and unprecedented “war crime,” deliberately targeting the livelihoods and daily lives of the Lebanese people and requiring an immediate response from the international community.
The Foreign Ministry spokesperson called on the United Nations and relevant specialized bodies to take urgent action to conduct independent investigations, halt these violations, and hold the occupying regime accountable. He warned that silence in the face of such crimes would only encourage the continued and flagrant violation of international law.
Baghaei also strongly criticized the approach of the ceasefire guarantors, stating that the United States, as the primary supporter of the Israeli regime, along with France, bear responsibility for the consequences of these crimes due to their continued inaction and tolerance of repeated ceasefire violations. He underlined that both countries should be regarded as complicit and must be held accountable for the resulting humanitarian and environmental damage.
