Continuation of Wave 72: New Missile Barrage Hits Israel Minutes After Previous Strikes
WANA (Mar 21) – A new barrage of missiles has been launched toward Israel just minutes after the previous strikes, in what officials describe as a continuation—not a separate phase—of the ongoing 72nd wave of operations.
In a statement, the public relations office of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) confirmed that the latest attacks are part of the continuation of Wave 72 of the “True Promise 4” operation, carried out under the code name “O Messenger of God.”
According to the statement, the IRGC Navy conducted a combined operation using a large number of ballistic missiles and drones, targeting what it described as key military infrastructure. Among the reported targets were Al Minhad base and Ali Al Salem Air Base, which were said to have been used in recent days as launch points for operations against Iranian islands.
The statement further noted that IRGC naval forces remain deployed across the three islands and other positions in the Persian Gulf, maintaining what was described as a “firm and fortified presence.” It also warned that any further miscalculation would be met with a decisive response.
The latest developments underscore the continuation and intensification of military operations in the region, as ongoing cycles of retaliation continue to raise concerns about a broader escalation.
