WANA (Jun 14) – Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi has declared that the continuation of indirect negotiations between Iran and the United States is “unjustifiable” while what he described as the “barbaric actions of the Zionist regime” persist.

In a phone call with European Union foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas, Araghchi referenced recent remarks and messages from the U.S. President and attributed Israel’s hostile actions to direct support from Washington.

He strongly condemned the Israeli regime for what he called violations of Iran’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, including attacks on nuclear facilities and residential areas that resulted in the deaths of Iranian military personnel, academics, women, and children.

Araghchi urged the international community to respond decisively, calling for a unified global condemnation of Israel’s aggression.

He emphasized that countries advocating for peace and the rule of law are expected to denounce such “criminal actions” and exert pressure on Israel to cease its violations.

The Iranian diplomat also criticized a recent resolution by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Board of Governors concerning Iran’s peaceful nuclear program.

He described the resolution—spearheaded by three European countries and the U.S.—as a pretext for hostile Israeli acts against Iranian nuclear sites. Araghchi reiterated that any attack on peaceful nuclear facilities is a blatant violation of international law and called on the global community to hold Israel accountable for what he termed an “unprecedented and dangerous breach of legal norms.”

He highlighted Iran’s ongoing diplomatic efforts to raise international awareness about the destabilizing threats posed by Israel, urging the EU and permanent members of the UN Security Council to take a firm and responsible stance.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran,” Araghchi concluded, “has responded decisively to Israeli aggression in defense of its sovereignty, people, and national security—and is determined to exercise its legitimate right to retaliate.”
