Damage to Five Sports Facilities in Tehran Following Recent Attacks
WANA (Mar 09) – The Director General of Youth and Sports of Tehran Province has announced that five sports facilities in the capital were damaged during recent attacks.
Speaking in an interview, Sotoudeh-Nejad stated that several sports venues in Tehran were targeted and sustained damage during attacks carried out by the United States and the Israeli regime.
According to him, the Ba’athat Sports Complex, the 12,000-seat Azadi Indoor Hall, and three other sports facilities affiliated with the Tehran Municipality were among the sites hit in the past few days.
He noted that the Ba’athat Sports Complex suffered the most severe damage, with approximately 85 percent of the facility destroyed.
The Tehran sports official also criticized the international community’s reaction, saying that despite the attacks, the world has largely remained a spectator.
Sotoudeh-Nejad added that the exact financial assessment of the damage is still under review, with consultants currently evaluating the losses. He emphasized that the issue will be pursued in coordination with the Minister of Sports and Youth and ministry officials in order to improve conditions for sports activities in the capital.
