Death Toll in Minab School Attack Rises to 148, 95 Injured
WANA (Mar 01) – The death toll from the Israeli and U.S. airstrikes on Minab, located in Hormozgan Province, has risen to 148, with 95 others reported injured, according to local officials. The airstrikes, which took place early Saturday morning, targeted multiple areas in Iran, including a girls’ elementary school in Minab County.
The school, identified as Shajareh Tayyebeh, was directly hit during school hours, causing significant casualties among the students. The attack left many dead and wounded, triggering an immediate response from local medical facilities.
Reports indicate that minutes after the initial bombing, a nearby clinic that had started treating the injured was also struck in a follow-up attack, further exacerbating the situation. Rescue teams and medical personnel continue to work under challenging conditions as the number of casualties continues to rise.
The attack has sparked widespread condemnation, with Iranian officials calling it a blatant violation of international law and a crime against humanity. The continued escalation of violence, particularly against civilians, has intensified calls for international intervention and accountability.
