Defense Meeting Between Iran and Armenia
WANA (Feb 24) – Armenia’s Defense Minister was officially welcomed in Tehran on Tuesday morning by Iran’s Defense Minister as the two sides began high-level talks on bilateral military cooperation.
Suren Papikyan was received by Amir Aziz Nasirzadeh, Iran’s Minister of Defense and Armed Forces Logistics.
The two officials are scheduled to hold discussions on expanding defense cooperation between Iran and Armenia across various sectors.
Aziz Nasirzadeh, Iran’s Minister of Defense, said on the sidelines of a meeting with his Armenian counterpart that Islamic Republic of Iran does not seek war. However, he stressed that if a conflict is imposed on the country, Iran will defend its sovereignty and national interests with strength and determination.
He warned that any aggression would be met with a response that would serve as an “unforgettable lesson” for adversaries—reflecting Tehran’s deterrence-based defense strategy amid regional tensions.
