Details Emerge of Alleged Espionage by Four Israeli Soldiers for Iran
WANA (May 09) – Israel’s Channel 15 has revealed details of a case involving four Israeli military personnel accused of spying for Iran, describing it as a serious security breach that authorities had reportedly been warned about in advance but failed to address.
According to the report, three of the suspects are soldiers serving in combat units. They are accused of maintaining contact with Iranian operatives over a period of several months.
The network stated that some of the suspects were still studying at technical institutions affiliated with the Israeli Air Force. The alleged connection reportedly began through an Instagram story, after one of the young soldiers shared a photo related to his military service and was contacted by an Iranian individual online.
The report added that one of his friends — also among the accused — later initiated contact with the same individual and asked how he could cooperate. From that point on, communication between the group and the alleged Iranian operatives continued.
Channel 15 further claimed that some of the assignments were delivered through TikTok. The suspects were allegedly tasked with identifying buildings, streets, surveillance cameras, shopping centers, and even a facility linked to the Israeli Air Force.
In another detail highlighted by the report, one of the four suspects reportedly offered, on his own initiative, to transfer sensitive military documents, including information related to fighter jet and helicopter bases, in exchange for 15,000 shekels.
The report concluded by noting that what has particularly alarmed Israeli security officials is the relatively small amount of money allegedly paid for the operations. According to Channel 15, the total amount received by all four suspects combined was less than $7,000.
