Details of US Demands to Iran in Negotiations
WANA (May 17) – Iranian media have disclosed the core details of the United States’ response to Iran’s recent proposals, outlining five primary conditions set by Washington.
According to the reports, the key US demands include:
- Zero Compensation: The United States will not pay any reparations or damages to Iran.
- Uranium Transfer: Iran must export and deliver 400 kilograms of enriched uranium to the US.
- Nuclear Facilities Restriction: Only a single Iranian nuclear facility complex will be permitted to remain operational.
- Frozen Assets: The US refuses to release even 25% of Iran’s frozen assets.
- Negotiation-Linked Ceasefire: A halt to hostilities across all fronts remains strictly conditional upon ongoing negotiations.
The reports emphasize that even if Iran complies with these sweeping conditions, the threat of potential aggression from the United States and the Israeli regime would remain intact.
Political analysts suggest that the US proposal, rather than offering a genuine resolution, seeks to achieve strategic objectives through diplomacy that Washington failed to secure on the battlefield.
Iran Counters with Five Prerequisites
In response to the American position, Tehran has reportedly conditioned any future negotiations on five trust-building prerequisites:
- Comprehensive Ceasefire: An immediate end to the war across all fronts, with a specific emphasis on Lebanon.
- Sanctions Relief: The lifting of all anti-Iranian sanctions.
- Asset Release: The unfreezing and repatriation of all blocked Iranian funds.
- War Reparations: Compensation for damages incurred during the conflict.
- Maritime Sovereignty: Recognition of Iran’s sovereign rights over the Strait of Hormuz.
