Drone Attacks Target Checkpoints in Tehran
WANA (Mar 11) – Reports indicate that drones belonging to the Israeli regime were launched to target security checkpoints in Tehran, while Iran’s air defense systems have been actively monitoring and engaging the drones.
According to initial assessments, the drones were deployed with the aim of striking locations in the capital where security and volunteer checkpoints have been established. Unconfirmed reports also suggest that one of the drone operations in northeastern Tehran failed.
Meanwhile, informed sources reported that during the drone attacks on several areas of Tehran on Tuesday evening, a number of security defenders and Basij volunteers stationed at checkpoints were killed.
According to these reports, checkpoints in District 14 (Mahallati Highway), District 15 (in front of Hashemabad gas station), District 16 (Fadaiyan-e Eslam Street), and District 1 (end of Artesh Boulevard) were among the locations directly targeted in the attacks.
An informed official stated that the operation was a terrorist act jointly orchestrated by Mossad and monarchist elements, aimed at creating insecurity and facilitating the infiltration of saboteurs into the country.
Although official casualty figures have not yet been announced, unofficial sources report that around 10 security defenders were killed.
Reports also indicate that Reza Pahlavi had earlier urged his supporters to stay at home ahead of the attacks. At the same time, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reportedly expressed concern about the lack of public mobilization and support for the United States and Israel, stating that “time is running out.”
Security sources say the situation in the capital is currently under control, and further details are expected to be announced later.
