Egypt, Iran, IAEA Hold Talks on Nuclear Developments
WANA (Nov 16) – Egypt’s Foreign Minister, Badr Abdelatty, held telephone discussions with Iran’s Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi and Rafael Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), to review the latest developments in Iran’s nuclear file and ongoing cooperation.
According to a statement released by the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Sunday, Abdelatty emphasized the importance of continuing efforts to reduce tensions, build mutual trust, and create conditions conducive to sustained collaboration.
The statement further highlighted that the Egyptian minister stressed the need to seize diplomatic opportunities to resume negotiations and achieve a comprehensive agreement that takes into account the interests of all parties.
The discussions also touched upon developments related to the upcoming IAEA Board of Governors meeting. Abdelatty underscored the significance of continuing dialogue within multilateral frameworks, which, in his view, could strengthen the nuclear non-proliferation regime regionally and internationally while promoting global security and stability.
