WANA (Sep 23) – Eight members of Iran’s Institute for the Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults (Kanoon) have been honoured in the 24th International Environmental Painting Competition (JKY) held in Japan in 2024.

 

The competition received a total of 8,514 entries from 68 countries worldwide, of which 160 paintings were submitted by Kanoon members from Iran.

 

Iranian participants were awarded one Special Jury Prize, four first-place awards in the international category, and three honorary diplomas in the international category.

 

Sana Khodaei, 13, from the Kanoon centre in Bashrooye, South Khorasan Province, received the Special Jury Prize of the competition.

 

Satayesh Ghavi-Bazo, 9, from Kanoon Centre No. 1 in Meshginshahr, Ardabil Province; Zahra Jalili, 10, from Centre No. 37 in Tehran; Mahya Asadi, 12, from Kanoon Sanandaj in Kurdistan Province; and Mahshid Ghasemi, 14, from Kanoon Kahrizsang in Isfahan Province, each won first prize in the international category.

 

Additionally, Mohammadreza Mousaei, 13, from Kanoon Centre No. 21 in Tehran; Hananeh Nasiri, 13, from Kanoon Centre No. 2 in Meshginshahr, Ardabil Province; and Zeynab Rahimi, 14, from Kanoon in Namin, Ardabil Province, all received honorary diplomas in the international category of the Japan competition.
