Ejei: Iran’s Determination to Expand Ties with China Is Absolute
WANA (Sep 04) – The Head of the Iranian Judiciary stated that drawing on China’s experiences and sharing Iran’s own in order to deepen legal and judicial cooperation could lead to the creation of a robust communication network across all targeted areas within the BRICS framework.
During his visit to New Delhi, India, to attend the BRICS summit, Gholamhossein Mohseni-Ejei, the Head of the Judiciary of the Islamic Republic of Iran, met with Zhang Jun, President of the Supreme People’s Court of China and the country’s highest judicial official.
During the meeting, the Head of the Judiciary highlighted the strong relations between Iran and China, emphasizing the importance of linking legal and judicial cooperation with the expansion of strategic ties between the two nations. He noted that establishing and broadening communication channels in judicial fields could serve as a supporting pillar to strengthen relations across other strategic domains.
Emphasizing the necessity of exchanging legal and judicial experiences among BRICS member states, Mohseni-Ejei noted that leveraging China’s experiences alongside Iran’s expertise to deepen legal and judicial cooperation could establish a solid network within the BRICS block.
Reaffirming Iran’s firm determination to expand ties with China, Mohseni-Ejei stated that Iran faced attacks and illegal aggressions from the United States this year, but demonstrated its strategic stability and resilience to the world through the strong presence and full support of its people.
Pointing to fundamental shifts in international relations, the Head of the Judiciary observed that the world is transitioning toward a new global order, in which China plays an influential role. He stated that in light of these developments, Iran is determined to utilize maximum available capacity to fully implement bilateral agreements.
He also stressed the exchange of technological expertise, particularly the application of artificial intelligence in advancing judicial affairs, adding that China’s technological capacities combined with Iran’s domestic capabilities could drive a new leap in bilateral cooperation.
Mohseni-Ejei mentioned that Iran was originally scheduled to host the summit of judicial heads of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states last year, which was postponed due to aggressive actions by the US and the Israeli regime, expressing hope that Iran will host the event in the near future.
In turn, Zhang Jun congratulated Mohseni-Ejei on his reappointment as Head of the Judiciary, expressing honor at meeting him again. He recalled their constructive discussions during their meeting in China in April of the previous year.
The Chinese judicial chief stated that despite regional and international fluctuations, China and Iran have maintained healthy and stable relations, consistently assisting and cooperating with each other. He expressed China’s desire to strengthen strategic cooperation and noted that the Chinese judicial system is keen to deepen ties with Iran’s judiciary.
He added that China has conducted research into modern judicial governance, artificial intelligence, and digital technologies in legal affairs, and is eager to share these achievements with Iran while learning from Iran’s judicial experiences.
