Enemies Set Dates for Military Action, but Will Not Succeed
WANA (Jan 26) – Iran’s judiciary chief has warned that what he described as “foreign adversaries” are attempting to intensify economic pressure on Iran while preparing to reignite unrest, terrorist attacks, and even potential military confrontation.
Gholamhossein Mohseni-Eje’i said Tehran views such scenarios as ultimately ineffectual but stressed that Iran must remain vigilant amid what he called an ongoing “economic war.”
Mohseni-Eje’i stated that the primary objective of external pressure campaigns is to erode public resilience and undermine the national economy.
He argued that, under such conditions, combating corruption has become more urgent and must be pursued “seriously, preventively, and in coordination” across the executive, legislative, and judicial branches.
The judiciary chief framed the prosecution of alleged terrorists and street rioters as complementary to action against economic corruption, calling them “two essential pillars” in defending Iran’s security and livelihoods.
Citing the “multi-layered economic siege” against Iran, Mohseni-Eje’i urged a comprehensive response that includes both dismantling corruption networks and safeguarding legitimate business activity.
He emphasized the need to support compliant private-sector actors and production units to mitigate the broader impact of sanctions and external pressure on the country’s economy.
