Eslami: Grossi’s Remarks Lack Technical and Legal Validity
WANA (Jun 10) – The head of Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization has strongly criticized IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi for his recent comments suggesting the possibility of an attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities, stating that Grossi has shown himself to be part of the long-running psychological operations against the Iranian nation.
Mohammad Eslami, responding to a question about whether the IAEA’s recent report and Grossi’s statements are technical or political in nature, emphasized: “Mr. Grossi has clearly revealed his true nature. Especially considering the crimes committed by the Israeli regime in Palestine, while international organizations remain silent, it is evident that the Islamic Republic’s view on the rights of nations is grounded in realism. These international bodies have become tools in the hands of dominant powers and are completely influenced by Israel.”
He added: “Grossi’s remarks have no technical or legal dimension; they are purely psychological and political content crafted by the Zionist regime.”
Eslami continued: “It is astonishing that a state which possesses nuclear bombs—openly so—and is not even a member of the IAEA’s comprehensive safeguards regime, and which allows no oversight, is not only the subject of Grossi’s concern, but is emboldened by his words. What’s worse is that he says he has seen Iran’s nuclear sites and that ‘a very large force’ would be needed to destroy them. As Director General of the IAEA, he should never make such a statement. Under international law and nuclear obligations, no justification exists for such aggression, yet he openly says it can’t be destroyed! Grossi has shown that he, too, is part of the long-standing psychological warfare against the Iranian people.”

Refuting Grossi’s remarks, Eslami said: “It is shocking that such statements are made by someone holding the position of Director General of the IAEA. A warning had been issued to the Zionist regime when Iranian armed forces responded to its threats to bomb Iran’s nuclear sites, stating that any such aggression would be met with retaliation, including targeting Israel’s nuclear facilities.”
He stressed, however:“No Iranian official has ever stated that if Israel attacks, Iran would build a nuclear bomb.”
In his controversial interview with the Israeli daily Jerusalem Post, IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi had said: “Destroying Iran’s nuclear facilities would require an enormous military force,” and warned, “An attack could have a unifying effect for Tehran and, I say this explicitly, it could strengthen Iran’s resolve to pursue and resume the construction of nuclear weapons or even withdraw from the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).”
“I tell you this because they [Iranian political and military leadership] told me so directly.”
Iran Has Gained Access to IAEA Confidential Documents
WANA (Jun 10) – Rafael Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), once again leveled a baseless accusation against the Islamic Republic of Iran during his recent press conference, claiming that he possesses “compelling evidence” that “highly confidential IAEA documents” have fallen into Iran’s hands. This allegation comes despite the Islamic […]
