Eslami: Iran’s Nuclear Program Will Continue with Full Force
WANA (Jun 13) – Iran’s nuclear chief has strongly condemned what he described as a “terrorist” attack by Israel on the Natanz nuclear facility, vowing that the Islamic Republic will not back down “even for a moment” in its pursuit of peaceful nuclear advancements.
Mohammad Eslami, Vice President and Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI), confirmed in a televised interview that the Shahid Ahmadi Roshan nuclear site in Natanz was targeted during the early hours of the day, in what he said was a coordinated act of aggression coinciding with a broader terrorist operation in Tehran.
“Our personnel continue their work at all nuclear sites with even greater faith, strength, and morale,” Eslami declared. “We will stand firm on this path, even at the cost of our lives, and will not retreat for a single moment.”
Attack Caused Surface-Level Damage, No Radiation Leak
Eslami stated that while the Natanz site suffered repeated strikes intended to damage critical infrastructure, the attacks only caused surface-level damage. There were no casualties or radiation leaks, he said, reassuring the public that safety measures had prevented more severe consequences.
“Thanks to divine grace, we were not faced with serious damage,” he said, noting that a full assessment of the impact is currently underway.
Condemnation of International Silence
Labeling the incident a clear act of terrorism, Eslami pointed to what he described as the “bloody and inhumane ideology” of the Israeli regime, stating that its actions had become impossible to ignore.
He criticized international bodies for their inaction, saying, “We have repeatedly reported these threats and violations to the United Nations and the International Atomic Energy Agency through the Foreign Ministry, yet not a single firm stance has been taken against this aggressor regime.”
He further accused the United States of enabling Israel’s continued destabilizing behavior, saying, “For years, this regime—with direct American support—has brazenly undermined global peace and security.”
A Renewed Sense of Resolve
Eslami emphasized that such attacks have only strengthened the morale and determination of Iranian nuclear personnel.
“Not only have these assaults failed to weaken us, but they have also doubled the spirit and motivation of our teams,” he asserted. “The path is clear, and our roadmap remains unchanged. We will proceed with strength.”
A Tribute to Fallen Scientists
Offering condolences for the recent martyrdom of senior military commanders, nuclear scientists, and innocent civilians, Eslami concluded by honoring those who lost their lives in the struggle.
“The blood spilled has only made the tree of our nation stronger and more deeply rooted,” he said. “Our nuclear knowledge is not just in our facilities—it lives within us. The martyred scientists were mentors to hundreds of students who now carry the flag forward.”
“This journey is irreversible. Every enemy action only strengthens our resolve and unites our ranks.”
