WANA (Mar 03) – In a letter addressed to Rafael Grossi, the Director-General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), the head of Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization expressed strong objections regarding the continuous attacks by the United States and Israel on Iran’s peaceful nuclear facilities.

The full text of the letter is as follows:

“Dear Mr Grossi,

Honourable Director-General of the International Atomic Energy Agency,

Following numerous correspondences leading to INFIRC 1301 dated July 4, 2025, regarding the repeated barbaric attacks by the criminal regimes of the United States and Israel on the peaceful nuclear facilities of the Islamic Republic of Iran, despite repeated warnings and reminders to you about the inaction, especially by the Board of Governors, which, unfortunately, is under the influence and direction of the three European countries, the United States, and the Israeli regime, I must once again bring to your attention that, after continuing their aggressive actions, they attacked the Natanz nuclear facility on Sunday, March 1, 2025, in two separate rounds. These attacks are in violation of international laws.

These military attacks contravene the Geneva Conventions, relevant protocols, the IAEA statute, the framework of the United Nations Scientific Committee on the Effects of Atomic Radiation (UNSCEAR), the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT), the Comprehensive Safeguards Agreement between Iran and the IAEA (214/INFCIRC), resolutions of the IAEA Board of Governors and General Conference, IAEA safety standards, and other related international documents.

It is imperative that the IAEA urgently end its inaction and fulfill its statutory duties by condemning these actions that violate international regulations.

Clearly, the Islamic Republic of Iran will take the necessary measures to defend its sovereign rights and will pursue appropriate legal actions, particularly regarding the inaction displayed by your office.”
