Establishment of New “Marine Commando Units” in Iran
WANA (Jul 20) – The Commander of Iran’s Border Guard, Brigadier General Ahmadali Goudarzi, announced the formation of new units under the title “Marine Commandos.”
“These newly formed Marine Commando units have been organized to carry out specialized maritime tactics,” he stated.
Referring to the role of modern technologies and smart systems in border control, General Goudarzi added, “Smart border management has been one of the main priorities of the country’s law enforcement forces over the past one to two years. Today, we are utilizing advanced radars, electro-optical systems, and various drones—developed by the capable hands of young engineers at the Ministry of Defense—across our land and maritime borders.”
He emphasized that these advanced technologies have been deployed at watchtowers, outposts, and commando units, and have proven their effectiveness.
General Goudarzi also referred to his recent visit to Iran’s western borders, praising the coordination and strength observed there. “We assure the people that their sons in the Border Guard, with vigilant eyes and steadfast resolve, are working around the clock to safeguard the nation’s security and territorial integrity. Any attempt to disrupt public order or peace will be dealt with decisively,” he said.
