WANA (Mar 11) – Kaja Kallas, head of the European Union’s Foreign Action Service, announced new sanctions today targeting 19 Iranian officials and entities over alleged “human rights violations.”

According to reports, Kallas stated that the EU will continue to protect its interests and hold accountable those responsible for domestic repression.

The sanctions come amid the ongoing U.S.–Israeli conflict targeting Iran, which began on February 28, 2026. The EU has so far refrained from condemning what Iranian sources describe as illegal U.S. and Israeli attacks on Iran’s national sovereignty and territorial integrity, which have included strikes on medical and educational facilities.

Iranian officials assert that, contrary to claims by the aggressors, civilians have also been targeted in these attacks.
