WANA (May 02) – Two individuals convicted of espionage and intelligence cooperation with Israel’s intelligence service, Mossad, were executed in Iran after their sentences were upheld by the Supreme Court.

According to the Judiciary’s Media Center, Yaghoub Karim-Pour and Nasser Bakrzadeh had been sentenced to death on charges of spying and collaborating with Mossad. Their sentences were carried out early this morning following final approval by the Supreme Court.

Based on case documents, Karim-Pour had knowingly engaged in sustained cooperation with Mossad officers during the recent conflict, providing them with sensitive information about Iran.

His activities reportedly included photographing military sites, carrying out sabotage operations, building and detonating sound bombs, spreading false information to security and law enforcement agencies, and recruiting individuals for disruptive actions.

Reports indicate that his communication with Mossad agents was mainly conducted through messaging platforms and international calls, and that he received payments in digital currency.

The case file also states that he sought to create insecurity and mislead operational forces in Iran by making deceptive calls and providing false reports to police centers, while documenting some of his actions to send to Mossad handlers.

The court ruled that his actions constituted “enmity against God” and “corruption on earth,” sentencing him to death.

In a separate case, Nasser Bakrzadeh was also sentenced to death for espionage and intelligence cooperation with Mossad.

According to reports, he was recruited via online platforms under the cover of tourism-related activities and went on to gather and transmit information about public locations, infrastructure, administrative centers, and individuals across various parts of Iran.

Documents show that Bakrzadeh traveled to several cities, including Chabahar, Kermanshah, Tehran, and Isfahan, collecting images and data requested by Mossad officers. He was also tasked with compiling information on certain sensitive sites and individuals.

Following his arrest and court proceedings, during which he was represented by legal counsel, the court found the scope of his activities significant and sentenced him to death on charges of “corruption on earth.” The verdict was reviewed multiple times by the Supreme Court and ultimately upheld before being carried out.

The report also noted that in recent years, foreign intelligence services have increased efforts to recruit individuals through online platforms. However, Iranian security agencies have identified and acted against such cases through surveillance and intelligence operations.
