WANA (Oct 02) – The maritime intelligence company Ambrey reported that a tanker sailing through the Strait of Hormuz was hit by a projectile, with images showing smoke rising from the vessel.

Ambrey said the Panama-flagged tanker was struck while transiting the Strait of Hormuz. In an alert, the company said it had reviewed post-impact imagery showing columns of smoke emerging from the rear of the vessel.

This is the second reported attack targeting a tanker in the Strait of Hormuz this month.

According to reports, all crew members are currently safe.

The Strait of Hormuz is a vital passage for global oil transportation, and any attack or disruption in the waterway could affect energy markets and maritime security.
