WANA (Jul 12) – Several explosions were heard on Sunday evening in eastern Bandar Abbas and the surrounding waters of Qeshm Island in southern Iran, with local authorities later confirming that multiple enemy projectiles had struck military targets on the island.

 

According to initial reports, the explosions were heard at around 6:45 p.m. local time from the eastern outskirts of Bandar Abbas and the maritime area near Qeshm. Residents of the village of Masen, in southern Qeshm Island, also reported hearing several blasts.

 

Later, Hossein Amir Teymouri, the governor of Qeshm, said that 10 to 11 enemy projectiles had hit the island since Sunday afternoon. He stated that all of the targeted sites were military facilities and confirmed that no casualties had been reported.
