WANA (Sep 01) – Multiple explosions were heard across southern Iranian coastal regions and strategic maritime hubs on Tuesday, including Bandar Abbas, Sirik, Qeshm Island, Konarak, and Chabahar, as military strikes targeted facilities along the Persian Gulf coast.

 

U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed in an official statement that U.S. forces began striking Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) targets in Iran at 12:00 p.m. ET. According to CENTCOM, the military action comes in response to recent attempted attacks by the IRGC targeting commercial shipping vessels in the Strait of Hormuz and American service members deployed across the region.

 

Following the initiation of airstrikes, U.S. embassies across the Middle East—including diplomatic missions in Israel, Jordan, Qatar, Bahrain, and Oman—issued immediate security advisories urging American citizens to exercise heightened caution and remain vigilant.

 

Global energy markets responded immediately to the escalation in the Persian Gulf, with Brent crude oil prices surging to $94 per barrel following reports of the strikes.
