Explosive Vest and Bomb-Making Workshop Uncovered in Iran
WANA (Aug 28) – The police commander of Sistan and Baluchestan announced the discovery of a workshop for producing explosive vests and homemade bombs linked to a militant cell that was dismantled in a recent operation in Iranshahr.
Brigadier General Mohammadreza Eshaqi, commander of the provincial police force, said that during follow-up inspections and clearance of the hideouts used by the terrorists killed in yesterday’s operation, security forces seized:
- 64 homemade electric detonators
- 24 remote receivers
- 5 hand grenades
- 2 forty-millimeter grenades
- 5 kilograms of improvised explosives
- 11 long-range electric remotes
- 2 reflective vests
- 140 meters of detonation cord
- 1 ready-to-detonate improvised bomb
- Along with a quantity of weapons and ammunition
Eshaqi added that the dismantled terrorist group had planned to attack economic infrastructure, carry out bombings in crowded public areas, and disrupt the security and peace of the province.
Yesterday, the Quds Headquarters of Southeast Iran announced that in three joint operations conducted in the cities of Iranshahr, Khash, and Saravan, 13 terrorists were eliminated.
